I recently dug out a couple of PS1 consoles, an SCPH-5552 and an SCPH-7502. The 5552 cd drive didn't work so i ordered an X-Station ODE (install article to follow) for it but the 7502 is not compatible with the X-station and the CD drive still works so i chose the PSIO, or a clone of from Aliexpress. This article will show the installation of the switch board allowing use of both the PSIO and original cd drive in my PS1 SCPH-7502 console

Step 1 photo — The PSIO arrived with the switch board, a 64GB SD Card and a length of wire for installation

Step 2 photo — The PU-22 Motherboard removed from the case

Step 3 photo — A trace cut is required around the parallel port

Step 4 photo — After scrapinng and using some flux to tin the required points

Step 5 photo — More scraping and prepping

Step 7 photo — Switchboard held in place with some double sided tape

Step 10 photo — and the back showing the logo which also acts as a heatsink to keep things cool

Step 11 photo — Success! I really should clean my screen! :)
